What is a temporary kitchen pod? +

A temporary kitchen pod is a portable unit delivered to your home with essential appliances such as an oven, hob, sink, and fridge. It lets you cook and wash up normally while your main kitchen is being renovated, avoiding weeks of eating out or using makeshift setups.

How much does temporary kitchen hire cost? +

Our portable kitchen pod costs £350 per week (incl. VAT). Delivery, setup and collection within 100 miles of MK18 5LJ is £350 (incl. VAT). For deliveries further than 100 miles, please contact us for a quote.

What's included in the kitchen pod? +

Single oven, induction hob, extractor, fridge with freezer box, washing machine, dining table with 4 chairs, heating, and a full set of saucepans.

What do I need to supply? +

Drain within 3m of the driveway, 2x RCD protected electric supply within 25m, and an outside tap within 25m.

How big does my driveway need to be? +

At least 6.5 meters long. A clear, level driveway is required with space for towing and positioning the pod. The pod must be sited on private land and cannot be parked on a public road.

Can it be installed on gravel or sloped driveways? +

Yes! The pod can be installed on most surfaces including tarmac, concrete, or firm gravel. A gentle slope is usually fine - contact us for more information about specific site requirements.

Can I extend my hire period? +

Yes, assuming the pod is not already booked out. Contact us to discuss extending your hire period.

Can I rent a kitchen pod for just a few weeks? +

Yes. We offer completely flexible hire terms, from 7-day minimum rentals to several months. You can choose the length of hire to match your renovation project, and extend if your building work takes longer than planned.

What appliances are included in a temporary kitchen? +

Our kitchen pod comes with a 4-ring induction hob, full-size oven with grill, sink with hot water, large fridge-freezer, full-size dishwasher, and integrated washing machine. We also include a microwave, LED lighting, and plenty of worktop space.

Do I need planning permission for a temporary kitchen? +

In most cases, no. Temporary kitchen pods are classed as temporary structures and usually don't need planning permission. As long as the pod is placed on your property and not on a public road, you can hire one without extra permissions.

How does a kitchen pod connect to my home? +

Our kitchen pod connects to your home's electricity using two standard household double sockets. We connect to your outdoor water tap for fresh water, and waste drains into your existing drainage system. If you're unsure about your setup, we're happy to check before delivery.

Does my insurance cover temporary kitchen hire? +

Yes, many home insurance policies cover temporary kitchen hire under 'Additional Living Expenses' after events like fire or flood damage. We work directly with insurance companies including Aviva, AXA, Direct Line and others to arrange emergency kitchen pod rental.

Does a temporary kitchen pod include a dishwasher? +

Yes, our kitchen pods include a full-size dishwasher plus washing machine. You also get a 4-ring induction hob, built-in oven, microwave, large fridge-freezer, and deep sink with hot water - everything needed for normal family cooking.

Is delivery and installation included? +

Yes - we provide professional delivery, installation, and collection as part of our service. Our team will install your kitchen pod in 2-3 hours and connect everything for you. Delivery charges are based on distance from our Broxbourne base and shown in your quote.

Can I hire a portable kitchen with fridge freezer? +

All our kitchen pods come with a large fridge-freezer as standard. The unit includes both fridge and freezer compartments with temperature controls, door storage, and enough space for a week's shopping for a family.
